Tesla owners turn against Musk: 'I'm embarrassed driving this car around' (www.theguardian.com)

The Guardian has run so many anti Musk articles that at this point it's sus.

Musk is wild and I get disliking lots of aspects of him, but I think Musk Derangement Syndrome is a real thing.

Some people are simply way too black and white in their thinking.

Like "embarrassed to drive a Tesla" because of Musk is imo too far down the rabbit hole. Evaluate the car as a car. Or at least that's how I approach the world.

I’ve seen so many Tesla bumper stickers that say “bought this car before Elon went crazy” that it doesn’t seem to be an isolated sentiment.

Cars and SUVs are sold as lifestyle accoutrements in the US, and have been for longer than I've been alive. I bet that rationally identification of transportation needs, and searching for a vehicle that meets those needs at the lowest price is extraordinarily rare.

A lot of it was that their reason to buy the Tesla in the first place was to support the mission rather than as a car.

Tesla was considered a positive force for people who cared about climate. It’s priorities have changed dramatically, with Tesla profits having helped put a climate change denier in the White House.
