The Guardian has run so many anti Musk articles that at this point it's sus.
Musk is wild and I get disliking lots of aspects of him, but I think Musk Derangement Syndrome is a real thing.
Some people are simply way too black and white in their thinking.
Like "embarrassed to drive a Tesla" because of Musk is imo too far down the rabbit hole. Evaluate the car as a car. Or at least that's how I approach the world.
Cars and SUVs are sold as lifestyle accoutrements in the US, and have been for longer than I've been alive. I bet that rationally identification of transportation needs, and searching for a vehicle that meets those needs at the lowest price is extraordinarily rare.
A lot of it was that their reason to buy the Tesla in the first place was to support the mission rather than as a car.
Tesla was considered a positive force for people who cared about climate. It’s priorities have changed dramatically, with Tesla profits having helped put a climate change denier in the White House.
