stores in Oklahoma, Alabama and Texas

They only verify a person is 18+ for ammo. That said I would find it odd if they are dropping standard boxes of rim-fire ammo in a vending machine. Maybe it's more gentle than I am imagining. Or perhaps they don't carry rim-fire.

A while back when I lived in California K-Mart had food and ammo but not from a vending machine. I don't remember when they stopped carrying ammo. I bought my first rifle in California from a K-Mart with no background checks as the requirement did not exist yet.

A number of states still do not require a background checks for private sales of firearms. [1]

evidently, higher education does not prove that you possess common sense or basic critical thinking skills. what exactly can you do with ammo if you don't already own a gun, Maddy?
