Exercising to lose weight? Science says it rarely works. (www.washingtonpost.com)

I lost 30 kilograms in 3 months.

I stopped eating all grains/wheat, potatoes, corn, and rice. Also trace amounts. So 95% of the supermarket I can’t eat and skip while doing the groceries. After a while it’s easy.

Plus I walk 5 kilometers everyday. It’s just 1 hour. I listen to a podcast. In the weekend more when time and conditions allow it.

I need to update my blog. But you can follow my journey if you want. Username + .com

It is easier to not consumer calories than it is to burn them. It really is that simple. Both take willpower though, and that's the hard part (excising and dieting).

You only need to look at the burned vs eaten figures to know that. I lost 10kg this year by diet alone.

The level of rationalization is crazy.

Bit disappointed, doesn't get into much detail at all. Also seems to be fairly common knowledge that weight control is mostly diet (any diet that restricts calories), exercise obviously is great for health.

What I miss in this is how the adaptations happen, NEAT impact, hunger caused by exercise, and the effects of weight training and gaining muscle mass might have as it sort of suggest there might be a difference. I guess we will need to buy the book to read all about it..
